WORMING

A nice way to relax for a few hours, with a sandwich from your tackle bag and a cold beer as the sun sets on a summers day. Or to the other extreme, when it's pouring down with rain, knuckles blue from the cold and holding the rod for what seems like an eternity, with the river carrying heavy water and fishing the slacks and eddys close to the bank side. I know which one I prefer!
The rod for me is a 12ft Avon with a 1.25Ib test curve and Cardinal reel, but now I have treated myself to a centre pin and I will let you know this season how it performs.

My setup for worming is to keep it simple, a running ledger with just enough weight to let it bounce along the bottom searching out the fish. I even use plasticine for holding the bait to the bottom because if you snag up you just pull out. Very useful when fishing snaggy runs and pools.

The above is my personal choice and is just a guide.
